Background

The United Earth is the military force which defends Earth from invasion and from internal conflicts, it controls the Earth's united armies and its warships. For most of its' existence the United Earth has been a peacekeeping force operating on Earth and its local colonies (Mars, the Moon and the surrounding space facilities) but during the Earth - Jovian war it became a planetary defense organization, devoted to protecting the Earth from invasion.

When the Jovians began their invasion of Mars in 2195, a sizable force of United Earth vessels was dispatched to destroy them, but it was not able to defend against their highly advanced technology. Soon after the destruction of the United Earth vessels, the Jovian force began to attack Humans on the moon and Earth. The quickly overpowered the United Earth forces until new technology could be included in a quantity sufficient to mount an effective counterattack.

The United Earth, using Distortion Fields and Graviton Weapons gained during an alliance with Nergal, was eventually able to destroy the Jovian forces that occupied the moon, turning the tides of battle away from the Jovians.

With the integration of the Nadesico and the commissioning of the Cosmos, the United Earth was able to begin to destroy the Jovian forces that were partially occupying Earth, and to fully reclaim the moon, during the closing stages of the war.
