Background

Tenician Island is a semi tropical island located on the equator, it has a warm subtropical climate it remains a pleasant retreat even during the winter. The interior of the island is a subtropical jungle home to many different species of plants and animal, and its exterior is surrounded by a pristine beach, it is probably that the island is surrounded by naturally occurring reefs though it has not been an important enough feature to involve the crew.

The island is the property of the Crimson family, an influential family from Australia who own many precision design and manufacturing groups, including the contractors who manufacture the shield generators used to create Earths primary defensive ring, the big barrier. The island contains a large luxury mansion but it only home to one person, Aqua Crimson the Crimson families daughter.  Aqua came in contact with the crew of the Nadesico during a search and recovery mission to her home (later becoming a search and destroy mission).

During an attempted incursion against Earth, a new type of Chulip later recorded as a Transport Chulip, was knocked of course by a battery of missiles and crash landed on Aqua's island. The Nadesico was subsequently launched on search and destroy mission (though given Nergal's tendency to alternative agendas it would have been a recovery mission had the Chulip not been carrying an aggressive load).

Aqua used one of her families barrier generators to capture the Chulip before it could unload its destructive payload, and plotted to release the robot that it contained when she was alone with Akito. However when Yurika and Megumi interrupted Akito and Aqua, she freed the robot in an effort to kill both herself and the unwilling, but poisoned (with a temporary paralyzing agent), Akito in a tragic but romantic gesture.
