Species: Jovian
Technology: Robot |

Background
This unknown robot is a heavier and more destructive version of the standard
Jovian Jiro, it carries heavier weapons and an
internal power plant. The robot operated without support or a command
cruiser to feed it energy, and can be presumed to be able to support its
self using an internal power plant, or to be able to draw energy from the
Nadesico's Graviton Power Beam (The Chuilp carrying the robot was knocked
off course, and the robot may not have been intended for use in an area
where the Nadesico was located, so it is unlikely that it was specifically
designed to draw from an enemies Graviton Power Beam)
This robot was sent to Earth in a Transport Chulip and did not Jump into
battle as most Jovian insects do, this may be because the robot carries a
Jovian pilot, or because its power supply is too sensitive to expose to the
stresses of a Boson Jump. It can also be hypothesized that the insect was
purposely sent in a transport Chulip to attract attention and guarantee that
it was the Nadesico that was sent to intercept it. However it was not
sufficiently destructive to endanger the Nadesico, unless it possessed some
form of attack that was not used (for example a nuclear self destruct). It
could also be proposed that the Jovians were running out of the material
required to build Chulips and therefore had to use a conventional transport
ship to send the robot to Earth.
The larger insect was knocked off course by a defensive missile battery and
its Chuilp crash landed on the semi tropical Tenician
Island. The Chulip was later captured by Aqua
Crimson (Episode 10 - The dangers of femininity) to use as the ultimate
component of a suicide attack, on herself..
The robot was later released by Aqua and to attack the Nadesico's
Aestavalis, when her plot to entrap Akito was revealed by Yurika and Megumi.
The pilots battled the insect in the jungles and it was eventually destroyed
by Ryoko Subaru.
There is no indication that this robot is capable of flight.
Weapons
The larger Jiro carries a scaled up payload of semi guided rockets, these
are heavier and more destructive than the standard Jiro semi guided rockets,
but proved less effective because they were not fired by a swarm of robots.
There is no indication that this robot carried a Graviton Beam Weapon or any
other type of cannon. It is not known how this robot fitted into the Jovians
attack on Earth
Armour
The robots body size enables it to carry substantially thicker armour,
without using a Distortion Field, it was able to repel sustained fire from
most light to medium Aestavalis weapons. It was however eventually destroyed
using fire from the conventional weapons carried by Ryoko's Aestavalis
If this robot has a Distortion Field it did not deploy it, it can be
presumed that this was to conserve energy, suggesting that the robot runs
using batteries or an internal generator, and cannot maintain its full
functions and use shielding without depleting a significant portion of it
energy output/stores.
