Background

The Engineers are the largest group in the Nadesico's crew and the are only section to have full day and night rosters for every duty. 

Under the command of Chief Engineer Uribatake, the male engineers are mostly single men in their early or mid 20's on a ship full of single women in their early 20's, so when someone read their contracts and saw that they could not have a close relationships with any other employee it was them that raised the picket line.

The Nadesico's the engineering staff maintain and arm the Aestavalis as well as the the ships Phase Transition engines and weapons systems.
