Background

Kumi is a young girl who works in her families Restaurant on Moon. She met Akito after he used a Boson Gate to travel to the moon with an enemy robot. Akito worked for Kumi's family as a cook for a short time (Episode 15 - The significant other from a star far away) and helped her family in their restaurant.

Kumi lives with her parents, and shared her home with Akito when he was on the moon with them.

Kumi's mother was one of the civilians killed in the Jovian attack on their habitat complex. It is presumed that Akito was the intended target of the attack, but it, and the subsequent battle to obliterate a top secret Phase Transition research facility and spacecraft production complex killed many civilians.

A close friend of Minato's fiancé is believed to have been the pilot who attacked Kumi's home, though it is not known if it was in this battle that her mother died.
